Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelenskyy is in talks with Congress to visit Washington as early as Wednesday, said people familiar with the matter.

The plans are not final and will depend on security considerations, the people said.

Vladimir Putin has called the situation in Ukraine “extremely complicated” in an apparent attempt to prepare Russia’s population for a long-lasting war.

In an address to security officers on Tuesday, the Russian president admitted they faced difficulties in four regions of Ukraine partly occupied by Russian forces, saying working there was “hard.”

Putin annexed four regions of eastern and southern Ukraine in September in an attempt to secure Russia’s gains on the ground and deter western support for Kyiv.

Tesla has fallen below ExxonMobil in stock market value for the first time since 2020 as investors flock back to Big Oil and flee Elon Musk’s electric-car maker.

Elon Musk on Tuesday said he would resign as Twitter’s chief executive officer as soon as he has found someone “foolish enough to take the job”, bowing to the result of a poll of the platform’s users he conducted at the weekend.
埃隆•马斯克(Elon Musk)周二表示，一旦他找到一个“愚蠢到可以接受这份工作的人”，他就会辞去Twitter首席执行官一职，这是他在周末对该平台用户进行的一项民意调查的结果。
Musk also indicated he would continue to run the company’s “software and server teams” after stepping down, suggesting he will remain closely involved in day-to-day operations and product development at the social networking site.

The Tesla and SpaceX boss revealed his decision in a tweet late on Tuesday, nearly two days after the conclusion of a poll in which he asked users of the platform whether he should continue as chief executive, promising to abide by the result. The poll drew 17.5mn votes, with 57.5 per cent calling for him to step down.
